Curated by Thomas Beard and Ed Halter, Summer Knowledge is a series of one-person screenings presenting a multi-generational selection of artists working in the moving image. In keeping with the project of Beard and Halter’s Brooklyn venue Light Industry, each event will allow time for dialog and discussion.

Summer Knowledge launches the first in a series of programs with Beard and Halter through December 2010.

The Mission

Are you a filmmaker who is showing an art/indie/whatever movie in NYC but not at a regular movie theater or not for a regular run (1 week or longer at one venue) or not at a film festival? Or do you know about such screening events? Then this blog is the place for you - send in info about the screening event, will post it up here (unless the movie is like incredibly evil or something & does not deserve any publicity, just leaving myself an out, can't recall any titles that would fall into this category). And people who are enthusiastic about such screenings may be added to the blog as co-writers. Thanks.
